For the first time the Berlin University of the Arts opened its doors and presented a number of attractive international courses between July 12th and August 4th 2012. Artists of all disciplines, creative professionals and entrepreneurs, cultural mediators and advanced students from all over the world were invited to Berlin. In five artistic workshops all participants were invited to Berlin to gain insight into the practice of dramatic writing and the fields of storytelling, interdisciplinary work or special topics in Art History. We were happy to have on board the Norwegian storyteller Heidi Dahlsveen, the British dramatist David Spencer and the Berlin based performance group She She Pop and other distinguished experts as visiting professors.
With a fine selection of artistic summer courses and workshops the Berlin Career College at the UdK offers an interdisciplinary qualification programme on creative entrepreneurship. The ISSCE 2012 presents fourteen different events and introductory workshops related to various fields: art education, financing, networking and cooperation, career planning, leadership, self marketing, et al. Guided by internationally renowned experts, artists from all disciplines, designers and creative entrepreneurs are welcome to join the workshops and develop their skills and networks. We are grateful for the support of the Berlin Senate Chancellery – Cultural Affairs and the ERDF – European Regional Development Fund for co-funding the ISSCE.
